Sebastian Vettel hasn't had the best of starts at Aston Martin. He struggled in Bahrain and Imola and now, in Portimao, the German is still yet to compete with his teammate Lance Stroll, or the other midfield teams. He finished 16th in FP1 and was only able to do one better in FP2, finishing 15th.

"I did not feel comfortable in the short run, at the moment it is still difficult to put everything together," said Vettel to Sky Sports after the second practice today. "We tried quite a few things but did not achieve the best result yet. With all the things we tried, I am sure there will be something for tomorrow."

Struggling with the new car

Vettel made the switch to Aston Martin from Ferrari before the season and is still struggling to get to grips in his new team, explaining that "the car does not yet do what I want it to do."

"I think we can still work on the setup here, also on the driving style. On the long run, it's a bit better, having more laps. On the short run, it was difficult to put the tyres in the right window."
