Kvyat back in Formula 1 in 2022? "Many offers I have to consider"
- GPblog.com
Daniil Kvyat hasn't had the easiest career in Formula 1. He was replaced by Max Verstappen at Red Bull Racing in 2016 during the season, and then he was also sent away several times at Toro Rosso/AlphaTauri. Meanwhile, he no longer has a permanent place in the premier class of motorsport, but next season might be a different story.
"I want to compete in Formula 1 next year and I will work for it with my agent," Kvyat said in an interview with Match TV. Following his departure last year from AlphaTauri, the Russian driver has found shelter with the Alpine team as a reserve driver.
Multiple offers
Despite the fact that Kvyat's track record is not very impressive and he has not really been convincing in Formula 1 in recent years, he has received plenty of offers. He would like to analyse these offers calmly before deciding what his 2022 will look like.
"I have many offers that I have to consider calmly. First, we have to wait this year, look at the options and consider several factors: which teams, how the categories are, whether they are popular, and so on," Kvyat explained to the Russian television channel.
Kvyat happy at Alpine
At the French formation, Kvyat is closely involved in the whole process and is really enjoying himself. The 27-year-old driver does simulator work but also travels with the team to all Grands Prix to fill in if necessary in case of, for example, a corona breakdown. "I'm everywhere, in the factory, on the track. If something happens to the main drivers, I'm ready to be in the car at any moment."
