The shifts in the Formula 1 calendar after the cancellation of the Turkish Grand Prix means that the long awaited Mercedes test of Romain Grosjean was called into question. The French Grand Prix has been moved up a week to make room for the double-header in Austria.

Mercedes demo Grosjean cancelled

During the race weekend in France, a demonstration by Grosjean was planned, who would drive a number of laps on the circuit in the Mercedes W10 prior to the race. This would all take place during the weekend of 25 to 27 June, after which Grosjean would drive a full test in the Mercedes car on 29 June.

However, the French Grand Prix has been brought forward due to the cancellation of the race in Turkey, and will now take place on June 20. On this day Grosjean already has other plans: the Road America IndyCar round is also scheduled for 20 June, and Grosjean had already agreed to be there on behalf of Dale Coyne Racing.

Test for Mercedes goes ahead as planned

The demo during the race weekend cannot take place, but the planned test on 29 June will go ahead as planned, Mercedes confirmed on Twitter.
