How long will Raikkonen drive in F1? 'I'm not the youngest anymore'
- GPblog.com
At 41 years old, Kimi Raikkonen is the oldest driver currently on the grid. The Alfa Romeo driver will not drive in Formula 1 for very long much longer, but when the end will come is still up in the air for the Finn.
Raikkonen gets older every day
Raikkonen began racing in Formula 1 in 2001 and he is starting to notice that in his own body. "I'm not the youngest anymore and I've always been active. On the one hand, racing is getting harder and on the other hand, I'm getting older and older," he explained to AS.
Racing is something Raikkonen still really enjoys doing, but there's more to it than getting in the car and racing straight away. "I don't like travelling, especially now. I love the racing, but there's a lot more to it than just travelling."
Family a priority
For Raikkonen, it is therefore important that when he has the time, he spends it with his family. "If I could just come here, race and that's it, it would be perfect. But that's just how it works. I want to spend as much time with my family as possible."
