Honda with new engine: 'Driver feedback extra important in France'
- GPblog.com
Honda is ahead of the game and has already prepared a new engine for Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri in France instead of in the summer. Masashi Yamamoto explains the new powerplant and the new name that goes with it.
New engine and new name
At the French Grand Prix Red Bull and AlphaTauri will have a brand new Honda engine. From now on it will not just be Honda on the side of both cars but the name Honda e:TECHNOLOGY will be used.
"e:TECHNOLOGY is a collective name for Honda's own high-efficiency electrification technologies. This name will be applied to a wide range of mobility products," Yamamoto explains to as-web.jp. We will soon be able to see the new name on street cars from the Japanese brand.
Finding the right balance is important
Feedback is going to be extra important during the first Grand Prix with the new engine. "In France we are going to listen carefully to the feedback from the drivers and work with the Honda engineers to make sure the Honda engines are balanced correctly for all four drivers," Yamamoto concludes.
