Bottas stunned: 'We should be faster than this'

Last week Mercedes just couldn't get close to Max Verstappen, but both drivers still managed to finish on the podium. That will be difficult this weekend and Bottas is not optimistic about the race.
Just like last week, Max Verstappen was dominant throughout qualifying and managed to take pole position again. Unlike last week, both Mercedes drivers didn't come close at all, with Valtteri Bottas not even making it past P5.
The Finn just doesn't understand where the difference is. "In terms of race pace, we should be in much better shape. Everything we have done with the car is aimed at the race pace," Bottas told Sky Sports F1's camera.
Not only outpaced by Red Bull
Mercedes were overtaken not only by both Red Bull Racing drivers during qualifying, but also Lando Norris in the McLaren. "It seems like we have gone backwards from last week and others seem to have found more speed. I would say we are missing one or two tenths. I don't know if it's because of the different tyres, but McLaren has definitely found something," concludes the Finn.
