The people who regularly use the official app of Formula 1 will have seen a couple of separate push messages yesterday. F1 has now made itself heard for the first time via a statement on Twitter.
Push messages such as 'foo' (usually used for testing) and 'hmmm, I should check my security.... ' passed by. The latter indeed seems to be a useful tip, because F1 now reports that the notification service was indeed the victim of a hack. This appears to be the case after our own research. The good news, according to F1, is that no customer data was revealed or collected.
