Wolff not a fan of sprint races: 'Nobody wants to take too much risk'

This weekend, for the first time in Formula 1 history, the Silverstone circuit will host a sprint race. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff is still not a big fan of it, and expects nothing of note to happen during the race on Saturday.
During the British Grand Prix the format of a sprint race will be tested for the first time. Qualifying will take place on Friday, which will decide the order the drivers will start the sprint race. The result of the sprint race gives the top three points (3,2,1), and determines the starting order for the race on Sunday.

''At first glance, I don't expect much from it. It can be very boring on Saturday, with the formation of a huge train. Nobody wants to take too much risk. What if favourites like Verstappen, Hamilton or Norris get hit, don't start at all on Sunday or have to start from the back?'', Wolff told the Kronen Zeitung.
''Those are big risks. On the other hand, there are now three days with many attractive highlights. That can be interesting again. For us it's working in two sessions towards a set-up that is perfect for the races'', concluded the Mercedes team boss.
