Max Verstappen will resume his fight against Lewis Hamilton at Silverstone. At Hamilton's home track, the Mercedes drive will have the backing of the crowd, but the Dutchman is not worried about the lion's den: "Italy could also win at Wembley, right?

With a 32 point lead in the driver standings, Verstappen is travelling to Silverstone off the back of three consecutive wins. At his team's second home circuit (the factory is located in Milton Keynes), 140,000 fans will be present during Sunday's race, most of whom will be supporting their national hero Hamilton.

Will Verstappen win in England?

Verstappen feel he still has a great chance of winning despite of all those fans in front of Hamilton, and he immediately gives the English football fan a sensitive pat on the back: ''No, Italy also managed to win the European Championship final at Wembley, right? I don't notice that in the car. I think it's different with a sport like football, where the audience is closer'', says Verstappen according to De Telegraaf.

The Dutchman started his Formula 3 season at Silverstone, and keeps fond memories of the circuit. ''Indeed, my first weekend in motorsport. This remains an impressive circuit, one of my favourites. I had already tested there with a Formula Renault car, but this was the real start. Just like now, you could go full throttle in many corners. So it was quite similar, because those Formula 3 cars didn't have as much downforce'', concluded the Red Bull Racing driver.
