Anthony Hamilton, the father of Lewis Hamilton, still strongly believes in a world title this year. He believes his son has the work ethic needed to make a comeback and win his eighth world title.
In an interview with The Sun, he tells the following: “I’m always optimistic, it’s just about putting in the hard work. Work hard and hopefully, the rewards will come.”
Hamilton will start today's race from second place after Max Verstappen overtook him at the start for pole position during the sprint race. Verstappen currently leads the championship by 33 points over Hamilton.
Full house of fans present at Silverstone
This weekend the Mercedes driver will be driving his home race at Silverstone and there will be a full house of British fans in attendance. “It’s been absolutely amazing. We need it, us Brits, don’t we? We need some good stuff. With beautiful weather, we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend.”
Anthony Hamilton also knows Jos Verstappen. “Jos is a really good guy, I’ve worked quite closely with him in the past. The sort of work ethic from Jos is the same with most parents, supporting their kids through karting.”
