Marko says Hamilton should be suspended: "Verstappen is in shock"
- GPblog.com
Helmut Marko doesn't know yet what the physical condition of Max Verstappen is after the hard impact in the tyre pits during the British Grand Prix. The 78-year old Austrian does know that Lewis Hamilton will be punished for his part in the incident.
"We have no immediate information. He is in shock. But he would be on his way from the medical centre to here," Marko replied to Sky's German branch when asked about Verstappen's condition.
Like Horner, Marko is clear in his words: Hamilton is the culprit. "This is crystal clear. If the competitor hits our rear wheel rock hard with his front wheel, that is not a racing accident. That is negligent and dangerous behaviour," said the Red Bull Racing advisor.
Hamilton suspended?
The incident is now in the hands of the stewards who will look at it from all angles. Marko does have an opinion on it." I don't know what the maximum penalty would be. Such dangerous, reckless behaviour should be punished with a suspension," he concluded in an initial reaction.
