Lando Norris is having a very strong third Formula One season. The 21-year old Briton is currently third in the championship, has three podiums to his name and has not yet finished outside the points. But maintaining this form is difficult according to Norris himself.
Teamwork most important at McLaren
It's not just Norris who is performing strongly, also his team McLaren continues to improve. According to Norris, it is easy to explain why the team is improving so fast: "Just how we are working together, the work we are putting in," he told F1.com.
"The team are doing a great job giving me a car that is capable of being in that position and then it’s down to me executing, executing my qualifying laps, executing the race pace and strategy," Norris continued.
Maintaining form is difficult
According to Norris, it's all down to the teamwork within McLaren. "It’s a boring answer, but it can make a big difference," he says. For example, he says that even when the team doesn't have the best car he was always able to fight back to positions that earned points.
"Our decision-making and teamwork I feel is very strong. It’s not something that is easy to keep up but we will try," Norris concludes. McLaren is currently in third place in the Constructors' Championship with 163 points. Ferrari is close behind with 148 points.
