Schumacher enjoys title fight: "But I fear they'll hit each other again"

Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing have had some tough luck in the last two races, losing the lead in both championships to Mercedes. On the other hand, the German team is taking full advantage of Red Bull's woes, both times caused by a Mercedes driver. Ralf Schumacher is happy to finally see a title fight again, but regrets that the last two races ended badly for Verstappen.
"It's great that Mercedes is no longer dominating, and Max is doing a great job. Compared to his teammate, he can get more out of the Red Bull," Schumacher said in an interview with Motorsport.com. He also says he enjoys the behind-the-scenes political battles between the team bosses, and of course the one between Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.
Schumacher fears new confrontation between Hamilton and Verstappen
"The battle on the track is great, but a bit hard at the moment," the former Formula One driver continued. He therefore hopes that the rivals can finish the season without being too hard on each other, and that no one gets hurt. "But I fear they will hit each other again," he continued.
Contrary to some theories doing the rounds, Schumacher does not think Valtteri Bottas caused the crash in Hungary on purpose. "You can't plan something like that. But Max was unlucky again, and I felt really sorry for him," said the 46-year-old German.
