Di Resta: 'Would be wise for Hamilton to take an engine change'

During the Russian Grand Prix Max Verstappen received a grid penalty after an engine change, but the Dutchman still managed to finish in second place. The question that is keeping F1 busy now is whether Lewis Hamilton will also make an engine change. Paul Di Resta believes it would be a wise choice.
Hamilton himself indicated today that he does not expect an engine change, although this could change. "The key to it was Max Verstappen getting second place last time out in Russia and taking the engine penalty. What are Mercedes going to do? Where are they going to react? But it's two of the best guys in Formula 1 going absolutely at it all the way to the last lap I think", Di Resta says on Sky Sports.
"I think it would be a wise place to take it [Mercedes engine change for Hamilton]. Of course, you want to feel the benefit of the new power unit if you are going to sacrifice grid penalties. It isn't straight forward, two Mercedes powered car took penalties last time out. That was one of the fresh engines Bottas took last time out in Monza, it only lasted one race. So this really is where it's going to come to."
Hamilton and Verstappen will give everything
The two rivals have shown on more than one occasion this season that they don't give each other space. Things have already gone wrong at Silverstone and Monza. Many expect it won't be the last time the two hit each other.
"The nice bit is, when you get to the wheel-to-wheel racing, these two guys will throw everything at it based on the Silverstone and Monza clash. They respect in a sense, but one wheel in front of the other gives them the corner", Di Resta finishes.
