Perez talks about Verstappen's strengths: "That's pretty impressive"

Sergio Perez is not having the best of results lately, but he is still positive about the rest of the season. He expects to improve his results, but also says how impressive it is to see Max Verstappen in the Red Bull.
Indeed, the Dutchman is just two points behind Lewis Hamilton in the title race. Since Perez has been in the same car as the Dutchman, his admiration for him has only increased. "Of course it's very difficult to know someone as a driver if you don't work with them and don't drive the same car. So I just knew he was very fast and very talented", Perez says on Motorsport-Total.com.
"It's only when you drive the same car all season and work in the same team that you learn your strengths and weaknesses. He is really one with the car at Red Bull. Then you realise how long he has been in this car."
Perez sees strengths of Verstappen
"He knows exactly what he needs going into a race weekend", the Mexican analyses. "He's very clear-headed and he always reaches a very high level already in the first free practice, which is quite impressive."
Perez heads to Turkey with mixed feelings. "It's a circuit where we don't know what to expect on the tarmac. It's very slippery. Last year it was like driving on ice and then it rained. So it was quite a challenging weekend. It will be interesting to see how much grip we will have."
