Perez hopes to play a role for Verstappen: 'Get points'

While Max Verstappen is in a battle with the Mercedes duo for pole position, Sergio Perez is mainly in a fight to finish behind the three drivers. Also in Turkey, the Mexican failed to qualify fourth. A seventh place was the maximum achievable, which becomes a P6 starting spot after Lewis Hamilton's penalty.
"I think we were a lot closer to it during this weekend. We lost a set of the softest tyre (in Q1), so that left us with only a single set of new tyres in Q3. On the new set we had a lot of understeer and so I could not improve my time," Perez explains to the Ziggo Sport camera.
Perez hopes for action at the GP
Perez's main task will be to keep Hamilton behind him for as long as possible. As Verstappen will want to fight for the win upfront, it is important for the Dutchman that the seven-time world champion has trouble overtaking. Perez will be hoping he can move up a few places himself to the front.
"My Q3 was really not good on those new tyres. I'm looking forward to recovering from P6 and I hope to get as many points as possible. It will be a very long race and I think overtaking is quite possible. There will be a lot to drive for tomorrow," said the Red Bull Racing Mexican.
