Sebastian Vettel does not only have a passion for racing, but also outside Formula 1 he is involved in various issues. He is committed to a greener world, and he also regularly speaks out on LGBT issues.
In an interview with the Italian branch of Motorsport.com Vettel is asked if it is easier to speak out on the issue now that he no longer competes for Ferrari. "I don't know, in my opinion not," replied the Aston Martin driver. "I feel like these kind of questions are asked more and more when you answer them."
Vettel believes differences should be celebrated
Vettel stressed that he has no problem repeating his point of view. "I like to give my opinion and I also see that not everyone agrees with me. But that's the way it is, I stand for my opinion and also like to listen to the opinion of others," he continued.
The 34-year-old German believes that Formula 1 can do more in the field of human rights. "Our sport can put a lot of pressure and contribute to improving equality in the world. After all, we are not all the same. If Formula 1 cars all had the same color and parts it would be very boring, the same goes for people. We are all different and I think we should celebrate those qualities rather than fear them," concluded Vettel.
