Sainz and Ricciardo pick up where they left off: "Look, I'm shaking"
- GPblog.com
Ricciardo is known for his good-humoured character off the track. In Mexico the Australian showed his best side again. He did not hesitate to challenge Carlos Sainz even more after their rivalry in Austin.
Ricciardo challenges Sainz
During the United States Grand Prix Ricciardo and Sainz were well matched. The battle was a nice reflection of the strength of both teams, Ferrari and McLaren. After qualifying in Mexico, the McLaren driver immediately rekindled the rivalry.
Ricciardo started on P7 directly behind Sainz. In front of the Ziggo Sport camera he challenged the Spaniard: "In Austin I was also next to him and then I caught him at the start. So mentally... I don't think he'll sleep tonight."
McLaren and Ferrari rivalry
Ricciardo's 'trash talk' can be taken with humour, and Sainz knows that too. When the Ferrari driver later appears before the camera he seems unimpressed: "Look, I'm shaking."
Sainz does enjoy the brotherly rivalry with McLaren: "To be honest, it's great to fight against them. We always have a lot of fun and are close with each other."
