Power Rankings after Mexico: Gasly scores perfect score, Verstappen beats rivals
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen was victorious in the Mexican Grand Prix, but the Dutchman does not receive the highest score in the F1 Power Rankings for this. According to the jury Pierre Gasly's weekend was perfect.
Gasly makes no mistakes
Gasly had a strong weekend for AlphaTauri in Mexico. The Frenchman qualified in fifth place and quickly moved up to fourth due to the loss of Valtteri Bottas. He could not threaten the top three and drove to the finish on P4. This puts AlphaTauri on equal points with number five Alpine. Gasly gets a 10 from the jury of Formula1.com.
Verstappen follows Gasly in second place. The Dutchman had an excellent Sunday, but due to a blemish on the Saturday he receives a 9.3. The top three is rounded off by four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel. He finished in seventh place and received an 8.5 from the jury. Lewis Hamilton received an 8.2 for his race weekend.
The score after 18 Grands Prix
With the perfect score Gasly has penetrated the top five over the whole season. To maintain this position he will have to work hard, because Carlos Sainz and George Russell are hot on his heels. Verstappen takes the lead ahead of Lando Norris. Hamilton is in third place.
