Carlos Sainz managed to fight his way to the top of the field in the sprint qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix. He had to let Max Verstappen pass him, but was able to hold on to third place, which is where he will start the race.
"The start was great. I needed one because you know that starts have been a bit of a thing I wanted to improve on in the second half of the season to get such a good one today is a confidence booster," said the Spaniard after the sprint qualifying session.
Sainz expects different conditions on Sunday
"The first three corners I just went into the attack and was trying to make positions. It was a bit tight with Checo and Max but we made it stick from there it was suffering a bit with the soft until the end but managed to keep Checo behind," continued the Ferrari driver.
