It was a weekend to quickly forget for Aston Martin. Lance Stroll did not even compete in the Singapore Grand Prix, and Fernando Alonso did not manage to finish higher than fifteenth. All in all, it was very disappointing for the team. Alonso himself is disappointed, explaining where things went wrong in the end.

"It was an extremely tough evening: everything that could go wrong did go wrong for us," the Spaniard told reporters after the race in the city-state. "We came here with pretty high hopes, but Singapore is quite a unique event – race pace is really dictated by the temperature of the tyres – and maybe we went a little bit too hard."

Alonso not giving up and looks ahead to GP Japan

"There are a lot of things we need to investigate from this weekend – there's plenty to take away and improve. We need to get better," Alonso commented. " Let's just forget about this weekend and focus on the next one in Suzuka," concluded the Formula One world champion of the 2005 and 2006 seasons.

Only one Aston Martin took off in Singapore, as Lance Stroll suffered a huge crash in qualifying for the race. The Canadian flew off the track, hit the tyre pile-up and bounced back onto the track. So Aston Martin could not credit any points in the world championship this weekend.
