Mercedes managed to impress with their performance on their medium and hard tyres, but the Silver Arrows haven't been seen in the new hypersoft compound accross both weeks of testing. The reason, says
Valtteri Bottas, is because of the slight concerns there are with the W09 over the softer compounds.
"I think we have the medium and hard tyres down, but with the softer compounds we still have a few issues," Bottas explained in Mercedes' press release.
"Hopefully this won't be the case in Melbourne, but on the new asphalt in Barcelona we had some problems."
In spite of this, Mercedes can look back on a positive two weeks of testing, according to
Lewis Hamilton.
"We ran through everything en the reliability was amazing," said the four-time champ from Stevenage. "We're happy with the data we've collected."
"It's still tough to predict where we'll be compared to Red Bull en Ferrari though. We'll see at the first race. In any case, I think that we've gathered as much data as we could, so we can prepare ourselves in the best possible way for Melbourne."
