Towards the end of today's free practice session,
Max Verstappen broke down and had to stop on track. The engine went off, and all information on his dashboard was missing.
With less than two hours before qualifying, Red Bull engineers have a race against time to attempt to identify and fix the issue on Verstappen's car.
Christian Horner spoke directly after FP3 and admitted he was relying on hope.
"Hopefully it's as simple as a box being changed," Horner told Sky Sports.
In the crowd, many Dutch fans made the journey over to Austria to support their Red Bull driver. Orange flares were set off, and a standing ovation was given as Verstappen made his first appearance of the day.
Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo had a fairly plain sailing session but reminded some distance away from rival teams on the timesheet. He finished 0.821 away from eventual fastest Sebastian Vettel.
The 20-year-old Dutchman finished fifth after completing 14 laps. Verstappen also had a major trip to the gravel trap during the early stages of FP3, but managed to avoid any walls.
