Williams admits she never saw her Williams' team decine coming and it's come as a complete shock.
Williams admits that the unfortunate results this year has left her in a state of personal grief.
The side came into the season as a top midfield competitor but that his quickly been wiped since last season.
The FW41 car that Williams have in place for this season has really underperformed and had such a negative impact on the team's results, leaving them rock bottom of the constructors' championship with just four points.
"If anyone had told me last season what we are going through now was coming, then I would have been horrified," Williams told The New York Times.
"We never saw it coming. Clearly it's been a big shock. It's like experiencing grief.
"It is my team, it's very personal to me, and I've always said the team is like another sibling. I care for it deeply and all I do is try to and nurture it."
Williams admits her team are in a bad place currently but she is hopeful that they can get out of this bad run.
"At the moment everything that comes feels like a body blow," she added.
"Particularly when we're at the end of a tripleheader and you know the next race is going to be as bad as the previous one."
