Nyck de Vries finished the first two free practice sessions like all the other drivers. The Dutchman finished 19th in the second free practice, but started his weekend well a few hours earlier with an 11th place in the first free practice. The 28-year-old driver talked about his Friday.
"Pretty difficult. Obviously at this point we don't really know why. We haven't really been able to debrief and analyse what we did. We felt we were decent in FP1, but FP2 was much more difficult and we ended the session with a puncture. I guess we don't really know yet what happened with our comeback yet. So, yeah, quite up to it," De Vries commented on his Friday in Britain.
De Vries' Formula 1 seat seems to be hanging by a thread given the Dutch driver's performance. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko already reacted to De Vries' situation, saying that choices were going to be made when necessary.
"As I said, in FP1 it looked decent. FP2 looked a little bit more difficult. We're not the only ones who brought some upgrades. We'll find out tomorrow when everyone puts everything together," said the AlphaTauri driver. De Vries did not manage to score any points yet this Formula 1 season but obviously hopes to change that this weekend.
