After Haas' livery unveiling, this week it is the turn of Red Bull Racing, Aston Martin and McLaren to unveil their cars. The question is, how much will we see from these teams?
The Formula 1 season starts at the end of February with a winter test in Barcelona and in the run-up to that will be the presentations of the cars. While teams used to make a whole show of this in the past, this seems to be more limited for this year. Many teams are set to opt for an online launch.
This is not surprising because with a completely new set of regulations in 2022, there will be completely new cars on the grid. Every team is trying to find loopholes to get a head start in the new season. However, those special parts will come as late as possible on the car.
Helmut Marko indicated this earlier about Red Bull's press event on Wednesday, February 9. According to Marko, this presentation is mainly for the fans and sponsors, and we won't see anything yet. Red Bull don't want to give anything away yet, so you can almost assume that every presentation will be like this.
For example, Haas chose to make a 3D render of the 2022 sample car and stick the new livery on it. In all likelihood, we can expect the same from Red Bull, Aston Martin (February 10) and McLaren (February 11). It will be interesting to see if there are perhaps small things that differ when we have seen more teams though. That might give more of an insight into the mindset of the designers.
