Max Verstappen has been voted driver of the day by the GPblog audience, but a number of drivers scored highly. Verstappen qualified on pole for the Dutch Grand Prix, and despite pitting one lap later than others at the start, he navigated his way back to P1 and won the race.

Other top scorers

Verstappen picked up 33% of the vote. The top three votes was a carbon copy of the podium for the race in Zandvoort. Fernando Alonso came second with 29% of the vote. The Aston Martin driver took advantage of the conditions on the track and elevated to P2 relatively quickly. He managed to switch his intermediate tyres on quicker than Verstappen following the restart and looked to attack. Alonso couldn't make it happen and settled for P2.

Pierre Gasly also took advantage of the conditions and quick thinking from the Alpine pit crew. But he also battled to stay there and got his elbows out. When Sergio Perez picked up a penalty, Gasly stayed within five seconds for a spot on the podium. He received 15% of the vote. Liam Lawson came fourth in the driver of the day poll with 6% of the vote. The New Zealander was thrown into the deep end with just 60 minutes of practice and then one of the most challenging qualifying conditions he will ever experience in F1. He drove well in the race.

Other high scorers were Alex Albon (5%), Yuki Tsunoda (4%) and Lewis Hamilton (4%).
