The race weekend in Bahrain delivered plenty of excitement. Oscar Piastri celebrated his second win of the season while teammate Lando Norris finished third after a time penalty. With the next race already fast approaching, it’s time to hand out the GPblog driver ratings for the Bahrain Grand Prix.
If you agree or disagree with the list, let us know in the comments.
Starting from the front, Oscar Piastri delivered a flawless performance in Bahrain. From lights out to the checkered flag, the McLaren driver looked completely in control and never seemed at risk of losing the lead. A dominant drive and a well-deserved second win of the season—nothing short of perfect.
George Russell also earns top marks after a gutsy and composed drive. The Brit battled a range of technical issues throughout the race—his transponder failed, which affected his DRS, and at one point Mercedes even feared a complete dashboard shutdown. Despite it all, he brought the car home in second place. Given the circumstances, it was a great performance.
It was a challenging outing for Max Verstappen in Bahrain. He lost a position off the line and struggled to make up ground throughout the race. A large part of his afternoon was spent stuck behind Pierre Gasly, and while he did eventually get past him just before the finish, it was clear the Red Bull was a tough car to handle. Given the circumstances, Verstappen still managed to extract the maximum possible—a solid drive in difficult conditions.
Pierre Gasly delivered one of the standout performances of the weekend. His strong qualifying effort on Saturday set the tone, and during the race, he impressively held off Verstappen for lap after lap. While he lost the position in the final moments, it was still an outstanding showing from the Frenchman. A weekend to be proud of.
