Piastri wins exciting race in Baku
The young Australian has earned his second Grand Prix victory in Formula One in Baku this Sunday. In a nail-biting race, the
McLaren driver finished ahead of
Charles Leclerc. Also in contention for the podium,
Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez crashed into each other, and therefore,
George Russell claimed a lucky P3 in Azerbaijan. Youngsters Gabriel Bortoleto and Oliver Bearman also finished in the points, with the Argentinian finishing in P8 and Bearman crossing the line in tenth position.
Starting from P15 on the grid,
Lando Norris finished the race in fourth position, one place ahead of
Max Verstappen. The Briton also earned the fastest lap of the race, therefore, he earned three more points than his rival.
The gap between the two drivers currently stands at 59 points. In the constructors' standings, McLaren now lead
Red Bull Racing by 20 points.
