Piero Ferrari believes that Formula 1 invests far too much money in technology only to keep it secret from the world and especially from the other teams. According to Ferrari, Formula 1 is no longer the sport it once was, but more of a showdown that entertains the public less. The reason for this is that the various teams spend an awful lot of money to have superior technology, but then try to keep it as secret as possible.
"Formula 1 has to go back to providing a show for the fans," he commented to Motorsport.com. "Now we have faster loners with advanced technology that nobody knows about because some of the ideas are patented. We spend an awful lot of money and then we try to keep it secret. Can you explain to me what the point of that is?"
Formula 1 currently lacks its essence according to Ferrari
"We drive the fastest single-seaters in history, but the images that pass by on TV fail to show the thrill of it that you experience on the track."
Posit that Ferrari doesn't have secrets ?
Seven F1 teams demand explanation over secret FIA-Ferrari settlement https://www.racefans.net/2020/03/04/seven-non-ferrari-f1-teams-say-they-are-shocked-by-fias-power-unit-settlement/
Apparently Ferrari had to go about business with less fuel than everyone else.
This will come to day light soon enough, but this is what went down. Cheating scumbags get caught out right cheating by sending false fuel flow signals to the FIA and they get the "well, we can't have this going public" treatment and get punished in a way that hurt them on track and everyone knows it!
This is how the world works bro.
How about this for a rule, every two years all teams have to disclose everything and I mean everything to the FIA and the public in a press conference type deal.
Call it technology demonstration day or whatever you want to call it but this needs to happen this way there are no secrets.
