Prior to the second day in the
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, no fewer than three teams violated the curfew. Thus, mechanics went to work after the given time, tinkering with the cars. After 22:00 at night, three of the 10 teams were thus working illegally. In a document, the
FIA reveals which three teams they were.
At issue are teams
Ferrari, Mercedes and
Aston Martin. For two races per season, modifications are tolerated after the given curfew time. Both the team of
Carlos Sainz and
Charles Leclerc, and the team of
George Russell and
Lewis Hamilton are in an important weekend, due to the battle for second place in the constructors' championship.
For all three teams it is only the second time that the cars have been worked on outside the allocated time. As a result, they receive no punishment.
