The discussion about racism and diversity that has been going on for a few months has caused a lot of controversy in
Formula 1. This discussion flared up again last week when some former world champions got involved as well. The answer to that shows that the discussion has also hardened in Formula 1.
Lewis Hamilton was the first to reveal before the start of the season that, according to him, Formula 1 lacks diversity and with some incidents in the past, linked the sport to the racism debate.
Last week came a dissent of Old World Champions Mario Andretti and Jackie Stewart, who feel that Hamilton exaggerates. Andretti said he's creating a problem that doesn't exist, and Stewart says it's not so bad. Hamilton, in turn, said that Andretti should educate himself better.
Ribbs hits out at Stewart
Now it's Jackie Stewart's turn to be reprimanded. Willy T Ribbs, the man who was allowed to test as a black driver for Brabham in 1986, doesn't let any grass grow with his words. "He is the most racist and hostile driver I have ever had to deal with in my career. The reason you don't see the diversity problem is because you're the diversity problem."
What experiences Ribbs has with Stewart, he doesn't say. By the time Ribbs started to break through as a driver, Stewart had stopped racing for quite some time. However, the Scotsman was a commentator for the series during the period that Ribbs was driving
IndyCar.
I’m not sure Jackie Stewart is racist, but there’s no doubt about his sense of entitlement and his view that he’s still relevant. To begin with he’s from Scotland. Drugs, drink and the devil come to mind when I think of the Scottish. To be honest, it’s actually more sinister than that. Aleister Crowley performed thousands of satanic rituals that are too horrific to list at his Boleskin house. So Sir Jackie, you won 27 gps ,three championships and struggled to drive for nine years. This is not much of a career in reality. Plus, you claim that you can’t even read. Real winner, huh.If you could drag yourself out of the bed and just try to do a press conference along side of Lewis, would you even be able to understand the f1 of today. Please, just stay wherever you are and try to not make anymore comments. Again, NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOU!!!
Your opinion is very telling of your own lack of information and intelligence.
You write as if you are answering Sir Jackie Stewart personally.
The drug problem in Scotland is debatable, but not as bad as certain other places.
As for Aleister Crowley he lived in more than a few different countries in his lifetime. This is of no relevance what so ever.
Sir Jackie Stewart has done more than any other driver for the safety of motor racing.
I suggest you take your own advice and get off the bandwagon, also Try not to make any more (ill informed comments about motorsport.
You have a serious problem.
Race card a term made uo by white people. Educate yourself and find another term.
The only thing i find funny is why did everyone have to wait till the killing of George Floyd. Racism has been going on for so many years so why now only speak up about it. As someone said in the comments unless your going to sit down with governments to devise a plan to help end Racism and to have more diversity then what really is going to change.. I believe all lives matter. The day you start putting a colour in front of (lives)is the day you become the racist..
every since Hamilton has been on his "soap box" about this "lives matter" movement, it makes me feel he has taken the easy route to throw his hat/voice in. if this movement means so much to him why has he not been this "vocal" yrs ago? to me, Hamilton has quietly sat back for yrs and then jumped on an already large building "wave" where as he should of been the one building the wave.
This shit is out of control..finger pointing..he/she said...enough already..just f****** race...
i've met willy on several occasions ( he came to our track to test a few times - imsa trans am). he's a bit of a challenging character; fast behind the wheel for sure, but out of the car a pretty hard edged, chip on his shoulder kind of guy. but whatever ... i find these quotes to be a bit problematic. willy raced in the u.s. and in particular the south. if you watch his documentary he faced some pretty extreme ( by his account ) situations. so all these years later he is stating that jackie stewart is "by far the most racist" driver he ever encountered. willy has stated over and over that he handles racists with his fists. so if he's being true to his word then why was there no fight with jackie ? when i met willy he was super fit and strong; it wouldn't have been much of a contest. so why are we hearing about this only now ? jackie is getting up there and perhaps he does hold some "old school" today inappropriate views but i honestly don't know, sadly i never met him. why didn't he choose to call jackie out before this ? although jackie hasn't come out and said anything it's my belief that jackie had a bit of a problem with hamilton because hamilton refused to join the gpda - the organisation that jackie felt was so important as regards drivers' voice and driver safety. these are issues jackie fought so hard for and was so successful and responsible in moving forward. i'd have to say that with respect to these issues in particular stewart has a bit of a right to feel aggrieved towards hamilton for not using his position to lend weight to the gpda. hamilton has come around now and joined the gpda. i've never seen a quote from jackie maligning hamilton in any way. have i missed something ? either way i myself find willy to be a little unreliable as things stand. but hey everyone has an opinion.
It does shed new light on the fact that he has never accepted Hamilton's position in F1.
