After qualifying, there were no ongoing investigations into drivers disrespecting yellow flags or drivers holding up each other. Hence, the final starting grid is largely the same as the qualifying result. However, a grid penalty has been handed out, without major impact.
Yuki Tsunoda has been given a number of grid penalties after his crash in the first part of qualifying. He had to replace his entire engine, but in the process he also had to request a new energy store and new control electronics. These are the third for the young Japanese driver's car, while the
FIA limit is two. The AlphaTauri driver will therefore receive a grid penalty, but it will not have a major impact.
Hamilton must keep chasing Red Bulls behind him
Tsunoda will still start from twentieth and last. At the front it's
Lewis Hamilton, followed by
Sergio Perez and
Max Verstappen. With a difference in strategy, they expect the necessary spectacle there. Behind the three drivers are a lot of drivers, who were close to each other in qualifying.
Charles Leclerc will start fourth, followed by
Pierre Gasly,
Daniel Ricciardo.
Lando Norris will start seventh, after ruining his fastest lap by going wide at turn nine.
Valtteri Bottas will have to make up ground from P8 on the tight circuit.
*=Tsunoda will get a grid penalty and will start at the back of the grid as he was unable to set a time in Q1.
