Force India have had nothing to complain about after Friday's practice sessions after the team didn't run into any kind of trouble in both sessions.
Both drivers of last year's number four team were in the middle of their qualifying simulation when they were caught out by the red flag.
Sergio Perez ended with the twelveth place, and his teammate Esteban Ocon had to make due with the fifteenth place.
"We achieved a lot today," Perez said.
"There are a lot of new parts on the car and we needed to learn to get used to them quickly."
"It's only Friday," he added, no doubt with his twelveth place in mind, "and I think we'll find a lot more performance before tomorrow."
"That's been our strength as a team, and we need to work hard tonight to analyze the data we collected today to perform at our best tomorrow."
"All the teams are much closer together than they were last year, so we have to be perfect in qualifying as a small mistake sets you back multiple places."
Esteban Ocon hit the gravel in one of the practice sessions but had a pretty normal practice day apart from that.
"The afternoon session was a bit frustrating because of the red flag and I always seemed to be stuck in traffic," the French youngster said.
"Tomorrow is what counts though," he pointed out. "So we need to make sure we are ready and do our homework tonight."
"We have already seen a step forward in performance compared to testing, but there is obviously some tuning to be done."
