After finally finding some form again after a very slow start, it's hunting season for Force India, but the team's deputy team principal Bob Fernley knows that it won't be easy to beat Renault for fourth place in the championship.
After consecutive fourth-place finishes in the constructors' championship, Force India struggled out of the gates this season. Points were very scarce, but last weekend that was put to a halt, as Sergio Perez snatched an impressive third place for the Pink Panthers.
Fernley thinks that his team are improving, but not yet where they want to be.
"I don't think we've fully solved the aerodynamics problem, but we're getting better each race since Melbourne," he told Racer.
"Before we can grab fourth place again, we'll have a tough time with Renault.
"They look very consistent and we'll have our work cut out for us to beat them.
As of now, Force India are sixth in the standings, behind McLaren and Renault. The former isn't as big of a problem, Fernley thinks.
"We could've beaten them [McLaren] on pace easily, but that became hard for us because of the accidents in the first laps."
