Max Verstappen drove a crazy race from P10 and crossed the finish line first for the Hungarian Grand Prix. At Ferrari, the strategy again turned out to be a nightmare, allowing Mercedes to take full advantage of the Italians' mistakes.

Nobody could have seen Verstappen winning the race at the Hungaroring, but thanks in part to Red Bull Racing 's mad strategy the Dutchman takes home another 25 points. Lewis Hamilton managed to finish ahead of pole man George Russell on P2 and also set the fastest lap of the race. Mercedes took a double podium for the second race in a row.

Nightmare Ferrari

Ferrari will have to rethink their approach during the summer break, as Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz both finished off the podium. The race was even worse for the Monegasque as Ferrari put him on hard tyres. This proved to be completely the wrong strategy, forcing him to make a third pit stop on soft tyres.

Lando Norris finished in seventh position. Daniel Ricciardo looked strong at the start of the race, but he eventually fell back to fifteenth place. Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon again secured important points for Alpine with P8 and P9, while Sebastian Vettel managed to beat teammate Lance Stroll for the final point.
