Helmut Marko believes that it is time for
Ferrari and
Sebastian Vettel to part ways. The team asked the German racer to give the race lead back to
Charles Leclerc and the
Red Bull adviser believes that
Ferrari were prepared to "sacrifice" the four-time World Champion.
"Ferrari managed not to win despite having the fastest cars," Marko said to
AutoBild. "Although he was the fastest man in Russia, Ferrari sacrificed Sebastian." The Red Bull adviser believes that Vettel is being used as the number two driver at the team and that Ferrari are prioritizing Leclerc.
Vettel still has a contract with Ferrari until the end of the 2020 season but Marko thinks that the relationship has been ruined and thinks it should end early."He has no future at Ferrari anymore," Marko said.
Red Bull are yet to announce their 2020 driver lineup and although Marko has denied Vettel being an option, comments like these make Vettel's return to Red Bull look more likely.
