According to former driver turned analyst Karun Chandhok, Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner is a 'master politician' when talking about the team's situation with their wind tunnel. "Every time I listen to Christian Horner's wind tunnel is a relic of the Cold War thing. I mean, he's just PR spin isn't it?" the Indiana wonders aloud in Sky Sports' F1 podcast.
"He's such a master politician. You think of when they did a cost cap last year and he’s the master of deflection," the former driver continued.
Chandhok pointed to the issue Red Bull Racing are having according to Horner, which is there is no correlation between their wind tunnel and the data they gain on track. However, the former driver points out that when talking to staff at Racing Bulls, they don't have such problems.
"No, [Racing Bulls tell me no issues]. So it comes back to a Red Bull Racing issue," he added.
"There’s a correlation between what's happening in their designing factory and the wind tunnel, but that's a Red Bull Racing issue rather than a relic of the Cold War wind tunnel where we're designing tanks," the former driver concluded.
In Saudi Arabia, Max Verstappen finished in second place after receiving a five-second penalty for the race start incident, while Yuki Tsunoda had to retire his RB21 after a collision with his former teammate, Pierre Gasly, on Lap 1 in Jeddah.
