Mercedes seem a lot stronger at
Silverstone than they have been in recent Grands Prix.
Christian Horner announced at the team bosses' press conference that he even thinks the German team can fight for victory.
Mercedes for the win?
"I hope he's right,"
Mike Elliott, Mercedes' head of aerodynamics, is quoted by
Motorsport-Total.com. The Brit has a lot of confidence in his team and drivers, especially after
Lewis Hamilton set a respectable second-fastest time during FP2.
A win is still too far away according to Elliott. Mercedes came to
Silverstone with a large package of upgrades, especially the fins and the floor of the car. Elliott says the updates are working properly.
