The
Red Bull Racing team did everything possible to beat
Mercedes in 2021. In the Constructors' Championship it unfortunately did not succeed, but
Christian Horner is already working on creative plans to beat his rivals before the start of the upcoming season.
The team boss attended the Autosport Awards on Sunday night, where
Max Verstappen beat
Lewis Hamilton for a special prize. In addition to the presentation of the awards, a charity auction also took place, where bids could be made on auctions of the
Formula 1 teams, among others. The money raised goes to various institutions.
Horner tries to win auction
Horner is clearly willing to put down a lot of money to beat Mercedes in 2022, as during the auction the Briton submitted a bid of £4,000 for a tour of the Mercedes garage in Brackley. Photos circulating on
social media show the Red Bull team boss initially bidding £3,000 but later upping this.
Who eventually won the auction is unclear, but after all the controversy last season, we do not expect
Toto Wolff to welcome his rival to the factory, where the team is busy developing the new Mercedes car.
