Renault driver
Nico Hulkenberg thinks that he's currently doing his best driving in his F1-career as the German has started the year very well for the French team, consistently and comfortably finishing in the points every race.
Hulkenberg is currently tied for sixth in the championship with Fernando Alonso, who has the same amount of points but finished higher (fifth) in a single race granting him the tie-breaker. As for Hulkenberg, he started the season with a seventh place, followed up by two sixth-place finishes in Bahrain and China. He's also comfortably beating his teammate Carlos Sainz Jr. who has been struggling in adapting to the car but recently has been picking up form.
This gives Hulkenberg the confidence to say that he's in the best form of his career at the moment.
"I think so, yeah," he said when being asked exactly that.
"I think I feel pretty confident and happy, and these cars now with more downforce since last year’s generation of cars, probably it favours me more.
“At the moment I do feel with all the seasons I’ve done, the experience, probably I’m doing amongst the best driving that I’ve ever produced.
“So far I’m happy, but don’t praise the season too soon.”
Clearly, the German doesn't want to jinx it!
