While the silly season in
Formula 1 normally revolves around the drivers,
Adrian Newey is also playing an important role this year. Virtually every
F1 team would love to secure
Red Bull Racing's current designer and chief technical officer. Might
McLaren also be more interested in Newey than CEO
Zak Brown recently made it seem?
Brown stressed recently that he is happy with his current technical team. At the same time, the 52-year-old American denied having any immediate interest in a return of Newey, who had long worked for the Woking-based racing team in the past and achieved great success with the team.
Newey and Brown in talks in Monaco
After Newey and Brown were also seen talking to each other last year - at a dinner where the two exchanged hats from their respective teams - they have now once again been seen together. This time in the pit lane of the
Circuit de Monaco, where the Historic
Monaco Grand Prix will take place from 10 to 12 May.
Both
F1 promoters will take part in the historic event this weekend, which is scheduled two weeks before the Monaco GP. During the weekend, participants will drive their own historic race cars. Brown will compete in his 1980
Williams FW07B, while Newey will come out in his Gold Leaf Lotus 49 that dates back to 1969.
