With F1 in the UK set to be broadcast exclusively on Sky in 2019 many people have opposed the decision with many fans threating that numbers will drop, however Mehul Kapadia believes F1 will still pay as long as they get a good experience.
The majority of F1 is already on pay to view services, with Sky being the front runner in the UK, but it's not just the UK facing this.
Most of Europe already have this conundrum and it's spreading across the world at an increasing rate.
F1 viewing figures do not compete with other sports and there is concern that by making F1 mainly pay to watch it will reduce the figures even more.
However Mehul Kapadia the Tata Communications' F1 boss believes people will pay for the service providing it's of a high quality.
“Sports broadcasting is no longer just about TV – it’s about how the viewing experience can be augmented for fans, and how fans can be brought the entertainment they crave using different platforms,” said Kapadia to FormulaRapida.net exclusively.
“If the experience – on TV, at venues or on digital platforms – is powerful and immersive, and takes racing to the next level for fans, they will get hungry for more.
"As their passion for the sport grows, they will be happy to pay to get more such experiences too."
