F1-presenter Will Buxton thinks that rookie Charles Leclerc might be on his way to Haas next season to replace Romain Grosjean, as the rookie has been impressive for Sauber in his debut season.
Leclerc is already linked to a move back to his parent team Ferrari after a fantastic start of his rookie season, but Buxton thinks there's an extra step to be taken for the 20-year-old.
"No matter how good Charles has been, the step up to Ferrari in his second season looks too soon for me," he explained.
"He's showing amazing things at Sauber, and he will outgrow them I fear.
"At the same time, it could be that Romain Grosjean will leave Haas next season, which would make for a better team for Leclerc while still being allied with Ferrari."
If the step up to Ferrari is indeed too big for Leclerc in his second season, Haas would be a perfect middle ground. The American team, who have a partnership with Ferrari just like Sauber, would be a big step up for the Monegasque.
Where will Leclerc end up after this season? Ferrari, Haas, or will he stay at Sauber? Let us know what you think in a comment!
