Esteban Ocon was well underway at the Monaco Grand Prix, where he managed to keep Lewis Hamilton behind him for a time before passing the baton to his teammate. However, a time penalty handed out for an incident in which Hamilton crashed into the Alpine saw him finish outside the top ten. In Baku, Ocon will be hoping to seek revenge.

The time penalty was somewhat controversial because Hamilton was only driving with his front tyre next to Ocon. Nevertheless, it was the Mercedes driver who complained about the incident on the radio, after which the stewards ruled that Ocon was mainly responsible.

Ocon wants revenge in Baku

In a press release from Alpine, the Frenchman stressed that the goal is to make the weekend go as smoothly as possible, in order to have a strong qualifying session. "We need to ensure we are in a good position for Sunday to be able to bring home some good points for the team after the disappointment in Monaco," Ocon states.

The Alpine driver is looking forward to returning to the Baku City Circuit, where he was able to complete just three laps last year before having to pull the car over with a mechanical problem. "So, I am definitely excited to get our Baku GP weekend started," said an enthusiastic Ocon.
