Italy's Emilia-Romagna region has been hit by severe weather, Imola is also in this area and the Grand Prix was scheduled there for this weekend. This overview shows all the videos and photos of the emergency, showing that it is only logical that the Grand Prix has been cancelled.

Images paddock

Below are images of the current situation of the paddock at the circuit in Imola. On Tuesday, all personnel present were evacuated from the circuit and no personnel are allowed to travel to the circuit today either. The paddock is largely under water and partly because of this, the Grand Prix has been cancelled.

Here is another picture of the flooded paddock.

Situation around Imola

Around Imola, streets and even entire highways are flooded. Even the access road that the circuit is flooded, which can be seen in the tweet below. Clearly, it was impossible to hold a Grand Prix in this emergency situation.

The A14, a major motorway in Italy, is also flooded in some parts. The motorway runs all the way from Bologna to southern Taranto. However, large parts of the motorway between Bologna and Rimini are completely impassable due to water on the road.

City of Cesena

The Italian city of Cesena just south-east of Imola was hit very hard by the weather. Entire streets are flooded, cars only just rising above the water.

Especially from above, the emergency situation in Cenesa is easy to see.
