Red Bull Racing must pay a fine of 1,000 euros for an offence committed by
Sergio Perez in the pit lane during the first free practice session in
Imola.
Perez drove 89.8 kilometres per hour in the pit lane, with the speed limit being 80 kilometres per hour. This meant he was driving almost 10 kilometres too fast, which resulted in his
Formula 1 team being fined 1,000 euros.
Perez finished the first free practice for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix ahead of teammate
Max Verstappen, who struggled with the set-up and expressed his displeasure about it over the team radio. Perez was also ahead of
Charles Leclerc,
George Russell and
Carlos Sainz in FP1.
