Sergio Perez is all set for the start of the season. Max Verstappen's teammate closed the winter test in Bahrain with the fastest time and already has an immediate good feeling with the car.
The F1 winter test in Bahrain went well for Red Bull Racing. The team drove a total of 413 laps and saw Verstappen and Perez record fast times. Verstappen was fastest on the first day, Perez the fastest on day three. Perez also closed the winter test with the fastest time of all.
"Race week is finally here and I am massively excited to be racing again. The RB19 felt really good in testing and responded well to set-up changes we made. I am looking forward to seeing how the car responds to qualifying and race conditions," the Mexican said in the Austrian team's press release.
Although Red Bull was the fastest in the winter test and is identified by everyone as the favourite for this season, Perez does not want to get ahead of himself. "I don’t think testing is a true representation of where teams are at, so it’ll be interesting to see where everyone is after qualifying on Saturday. We certainly look and feel strong but it’s all about how you perform across a race weekend," concluded the Red Bull driver.
