Pirelli have confirmed that the new hypersoft tyre will be first used at the
Canadian Grand Prix.
The pink striped tyre that Pirelli have described as "the fastest tyre compound ever" will make its debut in Montreal on the weekend of 8-10 June.
All of the fastest laps during the two winter tests were set on the new tyres.
After a test on the tyre in Abu Dhabi last year, Lewis Hamilton described the tyre as "the best tyre Pirelli have ever produced."
Teams must keep one set of hypersofts for Qualifying 3 in Canada, and have one of the super and ultrasoft compounds for the race.
They will be allowed to choose how they make up the rest of the 10 sets of tyres.
The compounds to be used during May's Monaco GP are yet to be decided, so there is potential for the hypersofts to be debuted in the race prior to the Canadian GP.
The hypersofts are expected to be used as as a qualifying tyre and only as a race tyre on low tyre-degredation tracks, like the one at Montreal.
