Max Verstappen will have to start the
United States Grand Prix from sixth position. The Dutchman exceeded the track limits in his fastest lap and will therefore have to leave pole to
Charles Leclerc. View the provisional starting grid for the
United States Grand Prix here.
Leclerc has taken pole for Sunday's Grand Prix. The Monegasque was five thousandths slower than Verstappen, but the
Ferrari driver did stay inside the lines. Leclerc will start alongside
Lando Norris on the front row of the grid on Sunday. The Briton will hope to continue the tradition of being number two to come through turn one first.
On the second row,
Lewis Hamilton and
Carlos Sainz will start.
Max Verstappen can only be found on row three, next to
George Russell. Behind the men who still clashed in Baku are the Alpine drivers.
Sergio Perez again disappointed in America by qualifying only ninth. Qualifying was also disappointing for
Oscar Piastri, resulting in a tenth starting spot.
